| haha yes, i'm finishing this up now becuase i went over the xanga limit before so i wasn't able to finishhhh.
of course i became more of a picture whore as i got older ...so the first few years aren't as loaded. (and now i realize that the pictures get smaller out of laziness the more you go into my high school years)

winter break: santana row caroling after-dinner with vars and sf-caltrain adventures with the ladies. (there's melinda and pauline being pure clueless tourists).

the birthday rock that amy gave me hahahaha. it was actualy before winterball but then that would ruin my whole "winter" theme. some people get wishes to go to strip clubs or to buy lottery tickets or cigarettes. but ME? i, for the better, i think, get a BIRTHDAY ROCK. (it was still dirt-y when she gave it to me ...in a kleenex i might add)
 
muuuch later...dance team nationals! all our hark work paid off and we won TWO usa national titles =]. cool stuff, man. uptown girls forever! (bob the egg and some other less purple cuties)
hahahaha. some random rainy day. thank goodness for taking your camera to school to take pictures of econ notes ...and to capture moments like this.

my lahvely variations. good times in hawaii in nice warm weather with warm beaches with warmmmmm water. we all came back nicely tanned. except maybe for eric hilton, but he didn't even get as burned as he said he would!!!

being cheap and taking our own girl's group pictures. there were about 500 takes of this one HAHA. way to beach the system you guys; eric trying to be deceptive and bending his legs to hide how abnormally tall he is (of course i'm not abnormally short!); we're the sailor moon crew!!! i'm not sure which one i am, but angela fo sho is mercury...i think. oh and i htink jasmin is sailor moon. this is after we've transformed.

well. that's basically it. good times.
after orientation and signing up for classes and seeing how much work we have ahead of us...angela claire and i...as we lay ready to sleep in bed (we stayed an extra night in la before we drove back home) ...realize that high school, in all, was pretty darn fun. (if you want this feeling too, go to the ucla medical school workshop at orientation.)
i am grateful to all those who have impacted my high school years, in any way, big or small. i am sorry to those who i used to be close to and have lost touch with--you can be sure that you've crossed my mind at least once. i'll miss you guys...it's been a good run we've had.

so tonight was the variations farewell concert (thanks to those who
shared that with us, by the way). tomorrow is graduation ...as surreal
as that sounds.
during the concert there was a section for "senior gifts," i guess you
could call it, where one or two juniors presented a senior with a gift
that had (at least a little) thought put into it. i received a sort of
"survival kit" from my lovely fellow altos, Rosie and Kate, and in it
was a mini size version of the book "The Little Engine That Could"
so i open to the first page of this book and am like "hey, this looks
awfully familiar." after flipping through a couple pages, i realized
that, when i was little, this is the exact book (mini-sized) that my
mom used to read to my sister and me before bed or just at other random
times when she thought it was appropriate to teach us some kind of
moral (this was before my mom became the weird mom as many of you guys
know her as).
it was all there. i remember looking at the dolls in that book thinking
how i wanted a doll that looked like the talking ones in the story. and
looking at the fruits and lollipops on page...(looks it up)...it
doesn't have page numbers (go kids books!) and wanting to be one of
those little kids that was waiting for the train on the other side of
the large hill the little engine eventually crosses over. they got toys
too.
i'm not a little kid anymore. my mom will probably never read me books
ever again, sometimes i don't think i want her to, and she probably
will never give me a book with such a straightforward story of
persistence that "The Little Engine That Could" has (now she gives me
books about dating and sex and stuff. it's lovely, i must say). she
wanted me to grow up with confidence. i don't think i've done this yet,
but i still have a lot of growing up to do.
and i guess that's where i am now. i am over wanting to be one of those
children at the other side of the hill, and realize that determination
is something that i want to fully grasp on the road that lies ahead. no
matter how much i miss being a kid, everybody has to grow up,
eventually.
